As part of the Eyeview, we have been testing how we can strengthen the network and opportunities for Torbay’s creatives. There is a particular need to develop the production and technical infrastructure locally, so that skilled individuals can generate new ideas and opportunities, and support progression routes for those starting out on production careers.

We’ve be collaborating with a wide variety of people – producers, stage managers, technicians – all the people who make great things happen behind the scenes. We hope to bring these people together – through new opportunities, employment, placements, training – depending on career stage and aspirations.

In this way, we’ve been galvanising local energy, so that makers, producers, technicians and ‘people who make things happen’ can try out the benefits of working more collaboratively with a view to forming a more structured collective for the future.
